Upper English Intermediate - eleventh meeting

Today was our last meeting this spring and we learnt something about Arctic expeditions and polar bears. Thank you for your comments about the course. It has been nice teaching and learning with you. This course will continue again in September. Hope to see many of you then again!

Improve your English (Kerava) - eighth meeting

Today we discussed loves and hates and listened to some people telling about their loves. Homework: what are your likes and dislikes in an intermediate course. We will discuss that in the class.

One of our topics today among other things was the most treasured possessions. We discussed and listened to three people telling about their most treasured possessions. We also learned some useful phrases about money like splash out and push the boat out.

Today we learned about the history of mobile phones and discussed whether smart phones are better than ordinary mobile phones.

Today among other things we discussed literature and listened to Miss Marple actress Julie McKenzie talking about her role. Homework: do the grammar handout (perfekti). Like we discussed last time, all the ideas and comments on future courses are more than welcome. What kind of things would you like to do in an intermediate course; topics, tasks, course books, anything.
