Practice makes perfect (Kerava) - sixth meeting

Today among other things we listened to a mystery man and then retold the story. We also did some grammar exercises on verbs. Homework: do exercise 6 and 7 on page 115.

Steps 2 (Mäntsälä) - eighth meeting

Tänään kävimme steps 5 loppuun ja aloitimme steps 6, jonka aiheena on matkailu. Homework: tee moniste, jossa kerrotaan Georgen elämäntarina (muista imperfekti). Keskustelimme myös siitä, että ensi syksynä jatkuu Steps 2 jatkokurssi, jonka alussa kertaamme tänä vuonna opittuja asioita ja käymme Steps 2 kirjan loppuun.

Our topic today was shopping and we did some listening exercises and a questionnaire on shopping. Homework: do exercise 19 on page 75 and translate the sentences on page 76 and read the text (exercise 20).

New Headway Intermediate (peruskurssi) - eighth meeting

Today among other things we discussed literature and listened to Miss Marple actress Julie McKenzie talking about her role. Homework: do the grammar handout (perfekti). Like we discussed last time, all the ideas and comments on future courses are more than welcome. What kind of things would you like to do in an intermediate course; topics, tasks, course books, anything.

Englanti 5 (Steps 3) - eighth meeting

Today we talked about the myths about the British people and learnt something about them. We also revised some nationalities and countries. Homework: Do exercise 8 on page 186 and exercise 11 on page 189.

One of our topics today was phones. We talked about different phones and listened to music relating to them. Homework: Read the text on page 122.

Upper English Intermediate - eighth meeting

Our topic today was Gold Fever and we learnt quite a lot about that period in American history. We also looked at verb-noun collocations like make sense. Homework:  Do exercise 3 on page 25 and exercise 6 on page 35.
